Version 3.0 - What's New?

Sunday September 28th, 2008 by Walleye

Version 3.0 is here! However, things still look the same so you're probably wondering what's new. That's why I'm making this post. To explain all the new changes implemented into Version 3.0.

The updates are as follows:

- WordPress Blog Software upgraded to 2.6.2.
- New "Top Menu" above the header image.
- New SITEMAP page.
- New ABOUT page.
- All item thumbnails are now links. Images or no images.
- All item thumbnails now link to a page detailing the item in question.
- Additional images added to item pages (where applicable).
- Page headers removed.

With these changes, the site should be more user friendly and provide a more informative approach to each item. Many pages have been made in a rather short period of time, so some pages may have small bugs and be in need of some minor changes. If you spot any errors, please let me know by using either the contact button found in the new top menu, or by leaving a reply to this post.

**Please note, while there is a "File" button on the menu, the "File" section is still under construction.

Upgrades in Progress [Update]

Wednesday September 17th, 2008 by Walleye

I haven't really posted a lot on the site recently, due to there being a shortage of incoming items and not much in terms of news. However, with new items hopefully on the horizon I have made the decision to begin implementing some much needed upgrades to the site.

As well as upgrading the current blog to the newer WordPress 2.6.2, I will be upgrading the actual site too. This will probably leave me little choice but to close the site while I implement all the new features, which will provide a much better source of information in the future. Currently sat ahead of me is a mammoth task, with many new pages and a lot of web code flying around.

For now, the site will remain open. I want to keep it open for as long as possible to minimize the downtime while the new features are added. I will post again shortly before the downtime begins.

Update: Things are moving along quite nicely, a lot of the upgrades are ready to be implemented. So now I should probably begin the downtime. The site will be closed from 03:00AM (BST) on September 19th.
