I have taken it upon myself to reinstate the comment restrictions. Now, users must register before making comments. This is to prevent spam, which has recently picked up again to insane levels and moderating it is tedious.
Apologies for any inconveniences. This is only a temporary solution to a problem that needs to be addressed. Even if it involves getting an entirely new news system.
