In the build up to the long awaited release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, producer Hideo Kojima and lead artist Yoji Shinkawa will be coming to England to sign limited edition sleeves for Metal Gear Solid 4 exclusively at the HMV Store on Oxford Street, London on June 2nd.
The sleeves will be made available from 9am with a £5 deposit on pre-ordering MGS4 on the day, with autographs starting from 12-noon. The sleeve itself will be nothing more than a cardboard case which slides over the actual game case, much the same as the HMV Exclusive sleeve for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Nonetheless, collectors will be wanting to get themselves the exclusive sleeve, and getting it signed by both Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa is an added bonus!

Update: On top of this, if you pre-order MGS4 from HMV.com, you'll receive a free CD Sampler featuring selected tracks from the Original Soundtrack for the game.

Due to the insane levels of spam I'm receiving on an hourly basis, I have decided to make some changes to the way comments are made on the blog. All users are now required to register in order to post. I wanted to avoid doing this but I feel I have been forced into it by the fact that each time I log in, I have roughly 30 spam messages awaiting moderation. I am simply fed up with flicking through spam messages trying to find if there are actually any genuine comments.
I apologise for any inconveniences this may cause.

IGN have made a post (which you can read with the link at the bottom) regarding details of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' release in Europe.
The post mentions that a Limited Edition version of MGS4 is confirmed as an exclusive product to Play.com. Additionally, those who pre-order MGS4 from GAME stores will receive the limited edition Metal Gear Saga Vol.2 DVD. However, the Limited Edition version is unavailable at GAME, so collectors, such as myself, that want both the Limited Edition of the Game and the Saga DVD will need to purchase 2 copies of MGS4.
Personal experience with GAME suggests that if you pre-order MGS4 in store, you will not receive the Saga DVD until June 12th, when you go to collect your copy of the game. If this is the case, then MGS4 is going to prove quite costly, as the Limited Edition version has an £80 price tag with the regular version retailing around £40-£50.
That said, the Limited Edition comes with a special "Making of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" Blu-Ray documentary, the original soundtrack to the game and a 6" Old Snake figure which is believed to be the Unmasked Old Snake Ultra Detail Figure by Medicom... the very same figure I have just acquired.
Curiously, Play.com list the figure as being "Olive Drab". It is unknown what this might mean, but I believe it could be an exclusive variant figure in which the tactical vest worn by Snake is a different colour to the regular figure. Those of you who have been paying attention may have noticed that Old Snake's vest changes colours in different trailers depending on which of the 5 of the games locations he is in. I guess, only time will tell.

Update: I popped into my local GAME store yesterday and asked about the situation with the Metal Gear Saga Vol.2 DVD Pre-Order bonus. Curiously, no one in the store had heard anything about it. I was actually told it must be an exclusive online deal that IGN.com are dealing with. Which, anyone should know, isn’t the case.
