If you're heading to the San Diego Comic Convention this year, you can take part in Konami's cosplay contest, following on from Kojima Productions own contest last year. If cosplay isn't your thing, you can meet Hideo Kojima, Yoji Shinkawa and Yumi Kikuchi who will be signing various items. You'll also be able to try your hand at the E3 demo of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition.
Of particular note to collector's though is that the Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Play Arts Kai figures of Battle Dress Snake and Kazuhira Miller will be on "advanced sale." This means they'll be available to buy ahead of their official release which is expected later this month. If you're feeling lucky, you could pick them up and then go get them signed.

Peace Walker HD Recording

Hideo Kojima and the Japanese voice cast of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are back in the recording studio recording new dialog for the HD Edition. The dialog in question is mainly stuff regarding the controls, since the PS3 and 360 have different button names to the PSP.

25th Anniversary Play Arts Kai?

Following the success of Square-Enix's Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Play Arts Kai line, Kojima Productions have decided to keep the collaboration going with a new line of figures. So far, the two figures revealed have been Gray Fox and Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 1, which leads me to believe we're seeing the start of a line of figures that coincide nicely with next year's 25th Anniversary of Metal Gear.
Below is a gallery containing all the pictures of these 2 figures expected to be on shelves in Japan sometime in 2012.

First of all, I'd like to apologise for the lack of recent updates. The laptop from which I used to update the site developed a fault in which it refused to boot Windows. I decided to get a new laptop and delay all site updates until it was up and running. To try and keep on top of things, I made a Twitter account for the site and have been posting Metal Gear news, collection updates and other tidbits there. In future, a lot of the news updates for the site will be posted on the twitter account. This means the blog will not be updated as frequently unless there is a need for it.
The Twitter account for the site is @MGSCollection.

The trailer for Metal Gear Solid 3D that was shown only to the press at E3 has been added to the official site for the Nintendo 3DS title.

An Apology

I feel the need to apologise for the recent neglect of the site, especially after the big revamp. The truth is, I got sidetracked with playing Peace Walker and then went on a gaming spree. After eventually finishing Peace Walker, I played through Assassin's Creed 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, spent a lot of time on LittleBIGPlanet and began a marathon of games in The Legend of Zelda series starting with Ocarina of Time. This has eaten up all of my time in recent months, and I've made little progress in getting more photos on the site. However, with the arrival of a new item today and another due to arrive in the near future I've decided I should get back to work.
